To repeat, in possibly a more clear way with an actual example. It has saved me HOURS of waiting for lightworks to just start responding again after making several edits.

WHY IS LIGHTWRITE 6 SO SLOW FULL

I've started to prerender some scenes so I can work with short little clips on the visual edits, render that video out, then drop it into the full video already edited and rendered. SO! If you ever wonder why LightWorks is slowing down to a freaking crawl on the simplest little edit. each and every cut you make duplicates the ENTIRE video over again. if you make multiple cuts on a long video clip while editing so you can make the screen shake around, or layer a picture over top of the video, or put text on, or zoom around the video. it's super annoying)ĪNYWAY, all that to say. You could, if you wanted to, add another video track, scoot one timeline item up to the other video track and slightly one way or the other so it doesn't line up with the other track, click UNJOIN then drag the ending of one clip all the way out, click and drag the beginning of the other clip all the way to the beginning and have two copies! (if they line up and you click UNJOIN they just move together. You now have the entire video clip contained in each block on the timeline. Well not only did you make a cut, you ALSO have the entire clip now doubled. let's say you don't hit IN but instead just hit OUT and then click the REMOVE AND CLOSE GAP button, you make a nice clean cut. Maybe it's this way with all editors and I'm just stupid.

If you use lightworks to edit, I just figured something out the other day that may help you.
